Technology Transfer Manager (Physical Sciences)

We have a strong tradition of enabling researchers to commercialise their research through licensing and spinouts. We have created more than 28 spinout companies since 2000 three of whom have been floated on the stock market and is a founding member of the Set Squared Partnership which has been rated the top university business incubator in the world.       

Research and Innovation Services is looking to expand on its existing team and is now recruiting an additional Technology Transfer Manager (Physical Sciences) to manage, advise on and support the commercialisation of its intellectual property portfolio. 

You will be driving a wide-ranging portfolio of commercialisation projects in order to maximise the impact of our research and to increase income to the University through commercialisation deals and/or spinout creation. Commercially astute and technologically aware, you will work with world-class researchers, entrepreneurs, global partners and investors to help shape and develop strong mutually beneficial commercialisation partnerships. 

You will have strong commercial flair and excellent communication skills, be well-organised with the ability to multi-task and to work well as part of a virtual team. You will be a self-starter and enjoy the challenge of making things happen in a fast-moving environment. If you can handle all this and you have a relevant science/engineering degree or similar qualification with a proven track record of successful commercialisation then we would like to hear from you.
