At Aston University our marketing and communications structure has been shaped to stay ahead of the competitive marketplace and to ensure that our distinctive brand positioning is communicated clearly to all stakeholders. Our cross-university marketing teams (Undergraduate Communications, Postgraduate Communications, Research Reputation and Events, Digital, and Market Research) operate on a matrix basis, with embedded specialists based in academic schools working in partnership with centrally co-ordinated resources.

This exciting role is based across two of our schools:

  • Aston Medical School (AMS), our newest school of study, was launched in 2014 to provide high quality medical education and ground-breaking research in translational medicine. 
  • School of Life & Health Sciences (LHS) is acknowledged as UK-leading, with an outstanding reputation for teaching and research in a variety of specialist areas.

As part of a small team, you will be expected to use your skills and experience to work closely with the AMS/ LHS Marketing Manager, the wider marketing teams and key school stakeholders to help create and implement all school marketing and communications plans and activities. Activities within the role include:

  • Developing print and digital marketing materials and campaigns
  • Planning content for and running several social media channels
  • Planning and attending various recruitment and public engagement events
  • Implementing a range of marketing communications
  • Managing enquiry and prospective applicant data through the applicant/ student journey
  • Building good working relationships with various colleagues across a variety of teams and responsibility levels in order to provide the best marketing and communications service. 
  • To take on this role and join the team you should be educated to degree level or equivalent standard with experience of working in marketing and/or student recruitment. You will have experience of delivering high quality and innovative marketing solutions; writing engaging copy for a range of different audiences, stakeholders and purposes; and be able to work effectively and flexibly on a range of projects and to tight deadlines.
