Research Communications and Events Assistant

University of Sussex - Business, Management and Economics

Hours: part-time (0.6 FTE/22 hours per week)
Contract: fixed term until 31 July 2018

Expected Interview date: 31 Jan 2018

This post provides support for the School’s research impact, communications and engagement activities, working closely with the Research and Communications Coordinator, Research Impact Officer and Faculty within the School as required.

The successful applicant will be required to undertake a variety of tasks in support of research communications and engagement. Tasks include: updating webpages, assisting with the organisation of events, maintaining databases, planning and preparing written content, proof reading, as well as general administration duties.

The position would be suitable for someone with an interest in communications and events coordination as well as current affairs. The successful candidate will be a highly organised, enthusiastic and motivated individual, with excellent attention to detail and who is able to work independently. Excellent written and communication skills, solid administrative skills and good IT skills, including proficiency in using Word, Outlook and Excel are essential.  Editorial or web management experience of would be an advantage.
