Established in 1915, Hohai University (HHU) has a long history and is a state key university under the direct administration of Ministry of Education of China. The College of Computer and Information (CCI) is a key component of HHU and based on the latest data from Essential Science Indicators (namely ESI) in 2017, the discipline of computer science has ranked the world’s top 1%, which is a breakthrough both for HHU and CCI.

Nanjing where HHU is located is the internationally recognized capital of Jiangsu province, one of the largest cities in China. Situated in the heartland of the Yangtze River Delta, it has long been a major center of culture, education, research, politics, economy, transport networks and tourism.

The successful candidate will be appointed at the level of professor, associate professor or lecturer depending on your experience and qualifications. We are seeking candidates with research interests in the field of computer science, signal and information processing, circuits and systems, data management, or any other related research fields.

The successful candidates will teach and supervise students at all levels, while conducting independent, externally funded research programs in their fields of expertise. Support for developing an active research agenda is provided through start-up funds and departmental support. CCI will provide you with strong supports to apply for national and provincial research grants and talent programs.

All candidates must hold a Ph.D. in computer science, telecommunication and electronics engineering, or other related fields.

  • Senior candidates must be established leaders in their field with well developed research programs, and be able to demonstrate strong research and teaching experience.
  • Mid-career candidates should demonstrate strong records of publication and funded research, and participation in collaborations.
  • Early-career candidates with postdoctoral training are preferred and should demonstrate excellent academic credentials, strong research plan, and an excellent ability to teach effectively.

The position comes with a competitive salary according to the special talent policy. The detailed salary and start-up research fund is negotiable. Family allowance and purchase subsidies will be granted. Outstanding scholars will be recommended as the candidate for One-Thousand-Talent Program, ChangJiang Scholarship, or National Funds for Distinguished Young Scientists.

Salary: The annual salary depends on the level of appointment

For the role of lecturer, an annual salary before tax ranges from RMB120,000 to 200,000+.
For the role of associate professor, an annual salary before tax ranges from RMB250,000 to 300,000+.
For the role of professor, an annual salary before tax ranges from RMB260,000 to 450,000+.
