Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Battery Modelling

We are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Battery Modelling to join the Energy and Power Group at the Department of Engineering Science (central Oxford).

The successful candidate will join a world-class multi-institution team and be responsible for developing battery models, using techniques to reduce their complexity, and implementing efficient numerical solutions and parameter estimation algorithms. The post will be funded either from EPSRC project “Translational Energy Storage Diagnostics (TRENDs)”, or from the Faraday Challenge “Multi-Scale Modelling Fast Start” project. The post is fixed-term for 24 months, with a possible extension.

You should have (or be near to completion) a PhD/DPhil in engineering, physics, mathematics, or other related area. Your publications should demonstrate experience with electrochemical simulations. You will be responsible for developing theories on paper and implementing them in software, and will participate in group activities, project meetings, and external conferences.
