Lecturer in Art Psychotherapy (0.6 FTE)

The Faculty of Life Sciences and Education is looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer, experienced and qualified in Art Psychotherapy, to contribute to the Masters in Art Psychotherapy and to support the continued development of the University’s arts therapies provision. The successful applicant will teach at postgraduate level, and will:

  • Make a substantial contribution to the delivery of the MA Art Psychotherapy course (HCPC registered), teaching and tutoring students as directed by the Course Leader, in skills, theory and professional practice
  • Contribute to the delivery of other courses within the academic portfolio
  • Contribute to Masters dissertation supervision
  • Engage in scholarly activity and develop their research interests

This is an opportunity to make an important contribution to arts therapies training in South Wales, joining a vibrant and enthusiastic team. This course is one of a range of psychotherapeutic programmes in an area of growth at the university and is housed in purpose built teaching and clinical accommodation at Newport City Campus.

The successful applicant will be an experienced Art Psychotherapist, registered with the HCPC and relevant professional body.  The successful applicant will have a commitment to excellence in learning, teaching and professional practice, and will preferably have previous experience of teaching in Higher or Further Education.
