The Role.
Based in Student and Academic Services and within a network of specialist roles which collectively strive to support an excellent student and staff experience, you will proactively manage behaviour which can have an adverse impact on academic life and individual wellbeing. You will promote inclusivity, dignity and respect in our community by acting as the key point of contact for responding to student conduct that has an adverse impact on academic life.

You will manage the University’s processes and procedures for responding to incidents of inappropriate behaviour among students and coordinate actions that will address other behaviours that have an adverse impact on study, community relations, health and individual or community wellbeing.

In liaison with staff in the various support and welfare services, our communications office and our students’ unions, you will develop campaigns to promote behaviours that enhance both individual and community wellbeing.

Key requirements

  • Degree or Equivalent
  • Professional training and / or qualification in an area such as policing, social work, probation work
  • Substantial experience of working with young people whose conduct can be challenging
  • Experience of working in complex organisations and in organisations which are themselves part of an inter-agency network
  • Knowledge of best practice in approaches to fostering acceptable behaviours
  • Respect for diversity and inclusion and the ability to convey these values
  • High level of proficiency in use of IT including up-to-date knowledge of social media and appropriate online behaviours.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven skills in mediation and dispute resolution

Salary is in the range £38,832 - £47,722 (Grade 7) plus excellent benefits
