Employing approximately a thousand staff, the Hospitality & Accommodation Services (HAS) team is made up of a group of diverse and dynamic forward thinking individuals, contributing towards enhancing the student, staff and visitor experience at the University of Birmingham. HAS provides round the clock services, including sports facilities, catering, cleaning, conferencing, day nurseries, student housing, transport and security.

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional event professional to deliver a diverse portfolio of conferences and events in partnership with academic colleagues. You will have a track record of extensive and successful event management within a substantial organisation.

You will need to be very customer orientated with excellent communication skills. Your strong management, administrative and organisational skills, along with experience in dealing with all levels of stakeholders, will demonstrate you have the ability to manage a variety of tasks in an accurate and timely manner to meet event deadlines. You will thrive in a pressured environment, have the ability to prioritise a heavy workload and have keen attention to detail. You will be willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done!

In this exciting and varied role you will be responsible for developing and driving the event management strategy, ensuring effective budget and project management and a successful return on investment.

Full time starting salary is normally in the range £29,799 to £38,832. With potential progression once in post to £41,212 a year.
