The Department of Strategy, Enterprise and Sustainability (SES) in the Faculty of Business and Law invites you to join us. You will teach on undergraduate, executive and blended programmes, and research and contribute to the Research Excellence Framework.

SES is a vibrant teaching and research-active team, hosting the ‘Strategy & Sustainability’ and ‘Enterprise & Innovation’ academic subject groups. This post sits within the ‘Enterprise & Innovation’ subject group, which has teaching interests in the entrepreneurial process, innovation, business start-up, social enterprise, management consultancy, critical management studies, and international entrepreneurship, and supports the management apprenticeships’ work-based projects.

We are responsible for management apprenticeships degrees under the Chartered Manager & Senior Leaders’ standards, an MSc in Management and a Business (top-up), both primarily focused on the international student market, an integrated Masters in Business with an emphasis on Management Consultancy, and a very large undergraduate programme in Business Management, with law, placement, and overseas study variations. We also support the Manchester Met Global Online Programmes. AACSB, The Chartered Management Institute, The Institute of Enterprise & Entrepreneurs and AMBA accredit our programmes.

You can become a member of one or more research centres; Decent Work, Future Economies, Sustainability and Ethical Enterprise Group (SEEG), and the Sylvia Pankhurst Gender Studies Group. The Enterprise & Innovation subject group have six key research interests in the following small business and entrepreneurship themes: (i) Experiential Learning and Enterprise Education; (ii) Effectuation, Self-efficacy, Identity, Capability and Entrepreneurial Intentions; (iii) Innovation, Social Innovation, Creativity; (iv) Social Value, Social Enterprise, Social Entrepreneurship and the Third Sector; (v) Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility; (vi) Critical Management Studies, Institutional Theory and Entrepreneurial Eco-systems.

You will focus on the development of effective independent learners and the delivery of quality professional-accredited programmes that encompass high employability outcomes and student satisfaction.

You will undertake research and knowledge exchange to contribute to the development of areas in enterprise, and the delivery of commercial enterprise activity where appropriate.

You will have a PhD or equivalent qualification in a related area, have relevant industry experience and be engaged in teaching and research. You will also have previous experience of teaching in a similar capacity, ideally on executive programmes, and ideally with online/blended delivery and will have experience of research and ideally experience of submitting publications to the Research Excellence Framework (REF).
