You will work directly with the Principal Investigator, Armando Barrientos, in supporting the delivery of high quality research as part of the ESRC-DFID funded project: Improving research infrastructure on social assistance in low- and middle-income countries.

The Researcher will assist with primary and secondary research activities linked to the comparative study of emerging welfare institutions in low- and middle-income countries. The collection and harmonisation of a database of emerging social assistance institutions will require collaboration with researchers and officials in international and regional organisations and in domestic agencies and universities. As such, effective communication and engagement with project partners will be required throughout the project cycle. There will also be an administrative role in ensuring that project processes and outputs are recorded and documented in accordance with RCUK standards. The database is intended for public use. The Researcher will contribute to the design of access platforms for the database. The Researcher will engage in data analysis involving theory and concept from economics, social policy and politics and will make use of quantitative methods of comparative institutional research.
