The Department of Real Estate and Construction (REC) enjoys a world-class reputation for its research and teaching in real estate and construction management. It runs long-established, highly successful, and competitive professional education programmes, with alumni holding senior positions in the public and private sectors. Its academic staff has a broad spectrum of expertise, covering virtually every aspect of construction, land, real estate, and facility and asset management. As an integral part of the Faculty of Architecture, REC contributes to the world ranking of 14th under the QS University Subject Rankings 2021 in Built Environment. In terms of research quality, the department is ranked 1st in the Built Environment panel of the Hong Kong Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) 2020.
