As Associate Professor, you will carry out research, teaching and management within the school, faculty and university and contribute to academic leadership in the field of Fine Art with specific emphasis, in the first instance, on delivering our highly successful array of Fine Art programmes.

The School is a recognised leader in research and research-led teaching in Fine Art, History of Art, Cultural and Museum Studies. We offer a unique combination of programmes centred on the encounter between historical, cultural and theoretical analysis, museum and heritage studies and fine art practice. You will join an experienced, innovative and diverse team to teach across our four undergraduate Fine Art and MA in Fine Art programmes, in addition to supervising PhD students in practice-led research.

You will have experience in managing and leading fine art teaching teams as well as engaging with professional and technical services staff in order to provide effective leadership within such teams.

You will be actively involved in research, producing high quality exhibitions, performances and publications and contributing to the School’s Research Excellence Framework (REF). You will have the opportunity to engage with the School and Faculty’s many research centres. 

You will have achieved a high level of professional experience and standing as a leading practitioner, nationally and internationally, and demonstrate an enthusiasm for and record of research-led teaching. You will also be fluent with current practices located at the intersections between fine art, history of art, art writing and curation. In addition, you will have a proven record of research activities (commensurate with the level of the post) such as exhibitions, performances and/or published work, along with experience of and commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
