Beijing Normal University – Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) invites applications for the positions of Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in English Language and Literature Studies(Ref: FHSS231002), which are expected to be filled in in September 2024:

Job Description

We invite particularly candidates with specializations in: Theater and drama studies, United States and British literatures, and in composition; TESOL, English language education; Linguistics; English for professional communication, professional writing. Experience, directing student productions, would be an asset. 

Job Requirement

Candidates should have a PhD degree in a related discipline. Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate levels. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable ability to undertake independent research leading to outcomes with a strong impact, such as publication in high quality, internationally recognized, indexed journals and scholarly presses. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with successful candidate’s experience and accomplishments. The abilities to direct student productions and to teach playwriting are also highly welcome.

Benefits and Appointment Terms

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave and social insurance. Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual agreement.
