The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the positions of Professor in Environmental Economics/International Economics of Commodities/Management of Digital Food Businesses

Scientific environment
The Professorships will strengthen TUM’s expertise in Food, Commodity and Environmental Economics and Business research and complement the professorship in Sustainability Assessment of Food and Agricultural Systems. Being joint appointments, the professorships will be assigned to the TUM School of Management (administrative lead) and the TUM School of Life Sciences. They will be located at TUM Campus Weihenstephan in Freising, close to Munich.
Besides the schools’ professorships at all TUM locations, possible collaborating institutions include professorships at the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and the Munich Data Science Institute.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint experts in the research areas mentioned above, focusing on the intersection of empirical economics/business and life sciences research. Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs relative to the individual appointment levels.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellent achievements in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment relative to the individual career level (please see www.tum.de/en/faculty-recruiting-faq/ for further information).
A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
TUM values full commitment to interdisciplinary research and a proven ability to gain and lead cooperative research projects and attract third-party funding (esp. DFG, EU).
