The University of Gibraltar is seeking an experienced individual to serve as the Head of School (Maritime Science). This unique opportunity has arisen following the appointment of our current Head of School to a global Maritime project with a United Nations specialised agency.
The Maritime School is one of four academic schools at the University, and currently delivers two undergraduate academic awards, and a postgraduate award, which will be launched in September 2024.
This exciting role provides leadership and direction for the School of Maritime Science and has responsibility for defining and managing the portfolio of offerings of the School. In a relatively new School, this post provides a unique opportunity to shape the future of the Maritime School in a vibrant international setting. Achieving exceptional graduate outcomes, maintaining a culture of innovation, expanding the school's reach, and creating the best possible student experience are among the top priorities of the Head of School.
We are looking for a skilled communicator, with proven leadership experience within the Maritime Industry and Higher Education (preferably within a UK setting). A forward-thinking attitude able to take advantage of the changing dynamics in the Maritime industry, combined with exceptional people and management skills are necessary for this position.
