The Role

As a Senior Teaching Fellow in Marketing you will undertake teaching, course leadership and co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience. Senior Teaching Fellows lead on aspects of the student learning experience including the leadership of staff teams.

Based within the School of Marketing and Management in the College of Business and Law you will work with and lead other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.

Duties include:

Lead the curation, adaptation, design and development of module and course teaching materials including Curriculum development

Experience of academic leadership and effective communication skills

A contextualised knowledge of pedagogy and innovative teaching methods with the ability to develop these across a team of academic staff.

Ability to set out, communicate and critically review complex issues pertaining to contemporary challenges in the theory and practice of Marketing

Qualifications Required

Master’s degree in an appropriate subject OR (if from a professional practice background) a good Honors Degree and an appropriate professional qualification and/or membership

A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education

PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous

Our Successful Candidate

You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 in Marketing with the development and demonstration of best practice in teaching, learning and assessment consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.

An experienced team leader with good level of digital fluency, you will have experience using creating teaching materials for face to face and online teaching using a VLE.

Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience in the development and enhancement of an ‘active learning’ pedagogy as appropriate to the academic subject area.
