Annual Leave: 35 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield

We are seeking a Programme Leader with vision, creativity and professional experience to lead our well-established Postgraduate Media programme, part of the world-class animation, creative media and games provision in the Screen Department, School of Creative Arts. The PG Media programme currently has 4 awards - MA Animation, MA Concept Art, MA Digital Media Arts, and MA Games Art and Design with more planned including, MA VFX, MA Immersive Arts, and MA AI Art for Games and Animation.

Main duties and responsibilities
The role will require you to undertake programme leadership with a responsibility for future development and international reputation of the overall programme and constituent awards as well as activities related to programme planning, curriculum and resource development, assessment and examination, promotion, and recruitment. You will also have high-level professional skills in, and contribute to teaching on, at least one of the current or planned award pathways.

You will be expected to develop and maintain professional networks, collaborative opportunities and strategic alliances related to curriculum and industry developments. This includes building partnerships with organisations with national and international reputations. You will make a strong contribution to the national and international reputation of this course and area of work, coordinating as required with undergraduate course leaders. You will also undertake high-level creative or research activities with a minimum of one research / professional practice outcome per year of at least national standard.

Skill and experience required
You will have significant professional experience and in teaching and managing delivery at HE level. You must have a strong track record as a practitioner in at least one area related to the programme awards with a deep knowledge of contemporary approaches to digital media as well as an understanding of the contexts, debates and technologies underpinning current digital media practice. You will have a knowledge of curriculum development and excellent skills in planning and organisation, a track record of developing innovative pedagogy and delivery in HE would be an advantage.

You must have good presentation and interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative and be proficient in English. Experience of management and project planning is also required.

Qualifications required
You must hold an undergraduate degree, or equivalent Level 6 qualification, in a relevant discipline, and a postgraduate degree in a subject related to Games, Animation, VFX or related area. A teaching qualification and/or membership of the HEA is essential. Having, or working towards, a research degree in a relevant field would be an advantage.
