Applications are invited for a Research Associate in Proteomics and Liquid Biopsy, at the Centre for Applied Pharmacokinetic Research (CAPKR) of the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry. The post will be tenable on a fixed term basis of 16 months, with 12 months at the University of Manchester and 4 months at Servier, France. The post-doctoral research associate will conduct proteomic analysis of brain tissue alongside liquid biopsy of cerebrospinal fluid.
Successful candidate will become a member of the CAPKR research team and be fully involved in a project entitled “Quantification of the Abundance and Interindividual Variability of Brain Metabolizing Enzymes, Transporters and Specific Pharmacodynamic Biomarkers in Matched Exosomes of Human Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) and Brain Tissue with Neurodegenerative Diseases”. The applicants should hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a biomedical, neuroscience, pharmaceutical or systems modelling research area, and have experience with protein and RNA sample preparation from tissues and biofluids. In addition, experience in transcriptomic and proteomic analyses is required. Previous experience of mathematical modelling using relevant software packages and models as well as experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams would be desirable. The candidate should be willing to travel between UK and France.
