  • Are you interested in how this can be supported and made sustainable through effective collaboration across sectors?

The  Centre for Economic and Social Research (CRESR) at Sheffield Hallam University has an exciting opportunity for two researchers to play a key role in the delivery of a major new interdisciplinary project funded by UKRI/AHRC through the ‘Mobilising Community Assets to Tackle Health Inequalities’ programme. The project aims to develop an innovative model to make arts, culture, and creativity a core part of health and care services across the UK. It will help to develop and establish “Creative Health Boards” - collaborative forums where voluntary and community organisations like charities, museums, and theatres will work with the NHS, local councils, and private sector to better integrate creative and cultural activities into health services. Creative Health Boards will focus on making arts and cultural programs more accessible and sustainable for communities at greatest risk of poor health.

The project will deliver a series of participatory action research projects to pilot novel approaches to funding, delivering, and measuring the health impacts of creative health and cultural activities. The researchers will play a leading role in the design and delivery of these action research projects, as well as providing support to build research capacity within local community assets, by being embedded within our local partners,  darts and  Cast, for a considerable proportion of their time.
