The role
The University of Bristol is seeking to appoint a Consultant Senior Lecturer in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join the Centre for Academic Mental Health. The position is based in the Population Health Sciences Department within Bristol Medical School. The post holder will be offered honorary consultant status and will undertake service duties with Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. The job plan will be split 50:50 between University of Bristol and the mental health service in Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.
This new post represents an exciting opportunity for a talented individual, with a track record of high-quality research in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry, to join a team of researchers working within an internationally leading centre. The Department of Population Health Sciences at the University of Bristol has an outstanding track record in public health, epidemiological and health services research, and provides a stimulating environment for academics at all stages of their careers.
The post holder should have extensive academic experience, including a track record of publishing high quality papers and obtaining grant income, as well as some experience of delivering teaching. They should be willing to take leading roles in developing and overseeing teaching programmes within the Medical School, and to be leading collaborative research bids.
What will you be doing?
The postholder will be expected to establish their own coherent programme of research within a defined area of interest. They will be expected to lead on the development of strategic grant applications and ultimately to establish their own research team. In addition to securing grant funding, and leading on conducting and disseminating research, the post holder will also be expected to undertake teaching and administrative duties within the Medical school, commensurate with a “Pathway One” appointment.
