Summary

We are looking for an experienced educator with expertise in teaching Public Health to join our newly established CDUTCM-Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute in Chengdu. The CDUTCM-Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute has an exciting new dedicated teaching facility on the CDUTCM campus. The programme welcomed its first year of students in September 2023, with subject-level teaching commencing in September 2024. The programme is managed by a team with many years of experience managing the delivery of Sino-British collaborative university programmes in China. In addition, Keele University subject experts and Programme Directors are supporting the implementation of the BSc in Public Health Management. If you are a motivated academic professional looking for a new challenge, then please contact us.

Details of Position

We are looking for a full-time Programme Lead to oversee the BSc (Hons) Public Health Management programme. The position is a full-time post based in Chengdu with a teaching load of up to twelve class hours per week. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Dean at CDUTCM-Keele Joint Health and Medical Sciences Institute and with Faculty academics and administrators at Keele University to ensure the quality of teaching and assessment on the award. The Programme Lead will also play a role in the selection of additional staff who will be appointed as delivery of the higher levels of the programme begin over the coming years.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject area.
  • Subject expertise.
  • Ideally, at least 5 years of Higher Education teaching experience.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons in English.
  • Ideally, at least 2 years of leadership experience in a Higher Education context.
  • Ability to design programmes of learning within the frameworks of university descriptors and policies.
  • Ability to contextualise programmes of learning for a Chinese context.
  • It is desirable for candidates to have experience of teaching in a UK/International Higher Education Institution.
  • It is desirable for candidates to have a dedicated teaching qualification.

Salary and Benefits

The position comes with an annual combined starting salary of RMB 451,599. This figure is based on 12 months of salary and includes all allowances for international staff such as a housing allowance, a flight allowance, an end of year bonus and a re-signing bonus.
