Job description
The School of Cancer and Pharmaceutical Sciences at King’s College London is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Toxicologist to join Department of Analytical, Environmental & Forensic Science (AEFS).
https://www.kcl.ac.uk/scps/our-departments/institute-of-pharmaceutical-science
The appointee could be specialised in any strong and fundable area of toxicology, but we are looking for a mechanistically focussed toxicologist who researches and educates across the interface of chemistry, biology and computer science, with preference for research on health effects of drugs or environmental pollutants in humans or ecologically relevant animal species. We have a preference for applicants with a track record of using New Assessment Methodologies (NAMs) to identify and characterise toxicological hazards of chemicals.
The post holder will contribute to writing and publishing high quality papers in peer-reviewed journals. They will devote a proportion of their time to developing high quality and successful research grants in line with Faculty and College metrics. Development of collaborations with researchers across the Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, the Faculty and King’s, as well as partnerships with the forensic science community both in the UK and internationally will be an important aspect of the post-holders portfolio.
The role requires an educator who will inspire student engagement and improve student outcomes through education delivery. As such, the appointee will be well qualified to provide education contributions to modules across the UG and PGT portfolio led from the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Why Join Us?
King’s College London is one of the highest-ranking Universities in UK and the World. You will be part of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences which was placed number one in the last Research Excellence Framework assessment. We are a forward-thinking academic community with access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. Join us in advancing toxicology knowledge and making a positive impact on the health of our environment and ourselves!
This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.
