The University of Winchester is seeking to appoint a SCiP Alliance Projects Manager to join the department of Research & Innovation. The successful candidate will join the team that leads the Service Children’s Progression (SCiP) Alliance, which is widely recognised as the UK-wide leader in the educational progression of the children of serving and ex-Armed forces personnel.

As Projects Manager, the post-holder will have excellent emotional intelligence, communication and team-working skills, ideally with extensive experience as a manager of complex projects involving diverse partners. They will also be keen to take the initiative, see problems as opportunities, and enjoy the benefits of working remotely and flexibly. Experience of delivering digital projects would be helpful, but not essential.

Our ideal candidate will possess a Project Management Practitioner level qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE 2), or equivalent experience. The post holder will have experience in managing budgets, be skilled with Microsoft Office packages, and be willing to learn new IT tools. The role will require travel throughout the UK, including overnight stays, so the post-holder must be able to commit to work occasional evenings or weekends where required.

As an employee at the University of Winchester, we are committed to your wellbeing and development. You will have access to a wide range of benefits and support including:

  • Hybrid working policy
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Holiday entitlement of 24 days per year rising by 5 days after 5 years’ service and the option to buy extra leave up to a maximum of 35 days
