Turning Passion into Purpose. London Southbank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Science.

The successful candidate will be an experienced academic holding a PhD in a relevant subject (e.g., Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacy, Medicinal Chemistry, etc.) with appropriate research experience. They will also have experience in curriculum development and working with professional accreditation bodies, such as the Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences.. The candidate will undertake research, administrative and any other duties as required by the Dean of the School/Head of Division of Human Sciences.

 About You:

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • PhD in Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacy, or Medicinal Chemistry.
  • A publication record consistent with level of experience that demonstrates the ability to produce high quality publications.
  • Experience in developing leading and teaching modules in the relevant disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and validation of related and relevant courses.
  • Established links with the pharmaceutical industry to facilitate placements, and industry collaborations.
  • Experience in securing funding from industry or research funding bodies as Principal or Co-investigator.
  • Fellowship of the HEA or a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (or equivalent).

Desirable Criteria: 

  • Prior work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Prior experience in Course Leadership.
  • Experience with accreditation or developing accreditation documents of Pharmaceutical Sciences courses for accreditation by relevant PSRBs.
  • Knowledge of the contemporary context of pharmacology/pharmaceutical science in relation to practice.
