Newnham College is seeking to recruit an Alumnae Communications Assistant. This role plays a major part in supporting the work of the Development Office and our £25m fundraising campaign. To be successful you will need to be a confident, self-starter with a passion to create and deliver great work.

With previous experience of PR or digital marketing, the successful candidate will be of graduate calibre, familiar with creating content for multiple channels, as well as building email newsletters using an email service provider, such as Mailchimp. Possessing excellent communications skills and be used to copywriting, researching, editing, proofing and originating printed and digital communications you will be IT literate and good at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.

Other duties include organising and creating content for the College’s annual Roll Letter, Donor Report and monthly e-newsletter. You will be responsible for coordinating and supporting any necessary photography and filming required by the Development team. You will collaborate with colleagues to produce intranet and internet content and you will have the ability to ensure that all activity aims for best practice and complies with GDPR legislation.

This is a permanent, part-time post, working up to 22.5 hours (3 days) a week but flexibility is a requirement as there are some out of office hours events. The salary is paid at point 30 on the University’s single salary spine, the full time equivalent (FTE) for which currently £26,444, consequently, the pro rata salary for an 0.6FTE contract is £15,866 per annum. The College offers membership of the USS pension scheme, and a holiday entitlement is 33 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays), pro rata. Other benefits include a free meal when on duty, free car parking where available and free use of the College’s gym facilities.
