We are seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated individual for the position of Institute Business and Research Manager for the Cardiovascular and Genomics Research Institute (CGRI). CGRI comprises of four separate research sections: Clinical and Experimental Cardiology; Vascular Biology; and Genomics. Our principal investigators cover a wide range of clinical and basic science with a heavy emphasis on translation to clinical impact. This role is crucial in the facilitation and implementation of the institute strategic objectives.
Working with the Institute Director and Section Heads, the Institute Business and Research Manager will be responsible for driving new initiatives to facilitate research collaborations, assist with fostering a research-intensive and business-minded culture to increase income, and to promote the profile of the Institute.
In addition, they will oversee an area of operational administration including line management responsibilities across the Research Institutes. They will be part of a team of managers siting in Research Operations working together to provide support across the four research institutes.
The successful candidate will have experience of both research and operational management and will have the ability to manage and resolve complex situations.
