Policy Fellowships Coordinator (Fixed Term)

University of Cambridge - Judge Business School

Location: Cambridge
Salary: £32,332 to £38,205
Hours: Full Time, Part Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 25th March 2024
Closes: 8th April 2024
Job Ref: NS41038

The Centre for Science and Policy (CSaP) has been established at the university since 2009. Its mission is to improve public policy through enabling policy makers to draw on the expertise of researchers at the University of Cambridge. The Policy Fellowships programme is a unique initiative, now in its 13th year, offering policy makers a bespoke programme of one-to-one meetings with around 30 researchers across the University over a two-year programme which includes meetings and workshops to make the most of the academic connections made.

This role coordinates the process of recruiting around 36 new Policy Fellows each year, drawn from the UK civil service, learned societies, devolved, and local government, industry, civil society and international organisations. As many of the introductory visits are split into two, and Policy Fellows also return for subsequent visits, the role holder organises multi-day visits for between 20 and 30 Policy Fellows each term.

Each Policy Fellow is a key stakeholder for CSaP and the Policy Fellowships Coordinator takes on the management of a number of Policy Fellow programmes at any given time, with a key contribution being research around appropriate academics to invite to meet Policy Fellows, based on their questions and interests. The Policy Fellowships Coordinator is also responsible for collecting and reporting on impact and evaluation data for wider CSaP activities, including reporting to the central university, which is based on Policy Fellows' engagement with university academics.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
