The Department of Estates is looking for a motivated and proactive person to support the running of the Campus Services Helpdesk.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will be the lead responsible for logging tasks and calls on the computerised helpdesk system, and ensure tasks are logged and scheduled appropriately. You will meet customers to discuss and agree job requirements and help to develop a Campus Services reporting scheme. You’ll be meeting with customers, managing enquiries, then contacting suppliers and companies for quotes, following up with invoicing and re-charging costs.

You will support across all the Facilities departments with signage, events and auditing. You’ll use the Concept CAFM system and be trained on the use of the portable digital devices associated. You will support across the Facilities department and provide reports and analyse the data from these for Campus Services. You will work 37 hours across the week, mainly Monday to Friday, but flexible working will be discussed at interview. See the Job Description for full responsibilities and more details.

Skills and experience required

You will bring previous experience of working in, or understanding of, a customer service environment and of an administrative role or similar. Previous helpdesk or facilities experience would be advantageous.

You’ll be comfortable with using a computer and with MS Office experience. You’ll have a clear understanding of good customer care and be able to demonstrate this. You’ll be able to juggle conflicting priorities and deadlines and work accurately under pressure. The reporting requirements need someone who has the ability to collect, process and present data. Teamworking is key, as you will support and provide cover for colleagues.

If this matches your skills, then we would welcome an application from you. Use your Personal Statement or upload a supporting document to explain how you meet each of the Essentials on the Person Specification, and if you can fulfil any of the Desirables too.

Qualifications required

You will hold a minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Mathematics and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualifications, or have proven professional work experience.

Please view the job description and person specification for a full list of the duties and essential criteria. Please attach a personal statement showing clearly how your skills and experience match the Person Specification.

We regret that we are unable to offer UKVI sponsorship for this post; applicants will either hold UK Right to Work, or demonstrate access to UK Right to Work, before an offer is made.
