Study Group are looking for a Subject Matter Expert in Media Studies to work with our Product Team. 

Our Subject Matter Experts are involved in the design, development, and implementation stages of our product lifecycle. Their key role is to develop the materials and supporting guidance needed for the effective delivery and assessment of our programmes.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Design

  • Creating Schemes of Work that provide structure to the module and accurately reflect the programme and module specifications. 
  • Contributing to clear and effective storyboards, which are necessary on certain projects to support delivery, future updates and changes.

Development

  • Creating engaging learning activities and compelling module content
  • Structuring the materials following set templates and guidelines to ensure a consistent student experience.
  • Adapting language and content to ensure that it is appropriate for international students.
  • Creating guidance documentation for delivery staff to best implement the module and support student success.

Implementation

  • Contributing to the guidance, demonstrations and training provided to academic staff on the use of materials for teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Contributing to the review and evaluation of the effectiveness of the materials and modules.

Other Activities

  • Maintaining project documentation and module structures/folders.
  • Actively participating in a relevant programme of pedagogical training and/or joining the HEA register as a Registered Practitioner.

ABOUT YOU 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies or similar; equivalent professional experience in the media industry may also be considered (Essential)
  • Substantial teaching experience in media subjects at Level 3 or higher at Higher Education Institutions (Essential)
  • Experience in developing teaching materials for media subjects, such as Film Production, Media Analysis, and Digital Marketing (Essential)
  • Experience in developing and/or teaching project-based learning modules (Desirable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Essential)
  • Confident user of MS Office and similar programs (Essential)
