Salary: £37,099 with incremental progression to £41,732
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 26th March 2024

The University of Cumbria is a modern, ambitious and thriving University. We are recognised as leaders in the delivery of project management education and building lasting relationships with both regional and national employers.

Following the continued expansion of the University of Cumbria Project Academy we are currently focused on growing our team and this post is for a lecturer to teach project management or project controls to undergraduate learners. Most of the delivery currently takes place using online tools but we do have some in-person delivery in Barrow, Carlisle, Lancaster and Portsmouth so a willingness and ability to travel is desirable.

The University of Cumbria is considered an industry leader in the delivery of project management education and qualifications. Now in its eighth year, the Project Academy is leading the way for Cumbria becoming a centre of excellence for project management education. Working closely with key employers such as those in the nuclear, healthcare and the automotive industries we have some fantastic opportunities for talented project professionals.

We are looking for experienced lecturers, trainers, or practitioners/managers who have a background of working, leading, training or educating, in industry and the workplace. Whether you are an existing academic or currently work as a trainer and are ready to embrace a new challenge, or you have significant experience working in industry and are looking to share your knowledge and expertise, we would like to hear from you.

The success of the Project Academy for Sellafield and our work with other employers such as BAE Systems, the BBC and Rolls-Royce have led to project management contracts with a growing range of employers such as NHS Trusts and local authorities, as well as a number of other private and third sector employers. We are looking to further develop and grow our activity, working with a wider range of employers. Whilst the main base of our activity will remain in Cumbria and the North West we also have established relationships with employers across the country and would be particularly interested to hear from applicants in the South of England.
