About School

The School of Mechatronic Engineering and Automation (SMEA) at Shanghai University is a multi-disciplinary school covering the disciplines of mechanics, electronics, measurement and control. SMEA consists of the Department of Mechanical Automation Engineering, the Department of Precision Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Automation, the Institute of Unmanned Surface Vehicle Engineering and the Key Laboratory of Advanced Display and System Applications (the Ministry of Education). The teaching and research of SMAE covers four first-level disciplines, i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Instrument Science and Technology, which are all ranked within the top 300 by the Shanghai Ranking's Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). The Engineering Science of Shanghai University is ranked within the top 0.5‰ by the global ESI ranking. Mechanical Engineering of SMEA is a national first-class construction discipline. The school has 8 undergraduate majors, 4 master's degree programs of first-level disciplines, 3 doctoral degree programs of first-level disciplines, and 3 postdoctoral research mobile stations. Three undergraduate majors have been selected as national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and four majors have passed the Engineering Certification of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.

In recent years, with Shanghai University as the first leading unit, SMEA has won three National Science and Technology Awards. Five professors have been selected as Global or Domestic Highly Cited Researchers. The annual research funding of SMEA exceeds 200 million in the last four years.

SMEA has multiple national and provincial teaching and research platforms, including the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the Key Laboratory of New Display Technology and Application Integration of the Ministry of Education, the Engineering Research Center of Marine Intelligent Unmanned Equipment of the Ministry of Education, the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Power Station Automation Technology, the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Intelligent Manufacturing and Robotics, the Shanghai Robotics Research Institute, the Shanghai Intelligent Unmanned Boat System Engineering Technology Center, etc. 

Responsibilities:

Full time job in related disciplines and fields such as Mechanical Engineering, Control Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrument Science and Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Medical Engineering Integration.

 Requirement:

  1. Possess good personal character, professional ethics, team spirit, and innovative consciousness;
  2. Possess a doctoral degree from a well-known university at home and abroad, or have experience in scientific research work from well-known universities, research institutions, or research and development institutions of well-known enterprises at home and abroad;
  3. Possess significant academic influence and competitiveness in the relevant research field, have the ability to independently develop new academic direction, demonstrate outstanding potential for further academic development.
