Change your career, change lives

The Open University is the UK’s largest university, a world leader in flexible part-time education combining a mission to widen access to higher education with research excellence, transforming lives through education.

People Services is committed to providing The Open University with high-quality people solutions and is valued for its efficiency, expertise, partnering capability and service.

The role

The HR SuccessFactors Systems Lead will lead strategic initiatives and provide expert guidance on SuccessFactors Employee Central and Recruiting & Onboarding modules.

Collaborating closely with the Head of HR Systems, the chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in advising leadership on system optimisation, facilitating decision-making processes, and ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives. Utilizing their extensive skills and experience, they will craft comprehensive solutions that extend beyond mere system functionalities, taking into consideration the unique needs of the University while enhancing the overall employee experience.

Responsibilities include managing a team, driving continuous improvement, and developing internal capacity. The ideal candidate will possess extensive SAP SuccessFactors experience, strong communication skills, and a proactive, resilient attitude. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of HR systems in a dynamic environment.

It is anticipated that a hybrid working pattern can be adopted for this role, where the successful candidate can work from home and the office. However, as this role is contractually aligned to our Milton Keynes office it is expected that some attendance in the office will be required when necessary and in response to business needs. We’d expect this to be approximately twice a month.

Skills and experience

  • Extensive SAP product experience at both a strategic and delivery level is a prerequisite for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining the HR lifecycle process system support, encompassing implementation, adoption/enhancement, and continuous improvement, is essential.
  • A background in HR is desirable.
  • We are seeking a strong communicator who excels at building connections across varying levels within an organisation with the ability to engage using non-technical language.
