This is an exciting opportunity to take part in an Apprenticeship programme at the University of Kent and earn whilst you learn. 

In this role, you will help provide a technical support service for staff and students within the Division. You will support the delivery of timely and effective teaching and research support to students, academic and research staff and visitors to the Division. You will also work primarily under supervision and through training will solve simple technical problems.

As Associate Technician you can expect to be involved in:

  • Carry out routine day to day tasks to established guidelines, to achieve team objectives. Under supervision provide technical support to divisional customers solving simple technical problems. 
  • Operate basic equipment, carrying out straightforward maintenance.
  • Assist colleagues and students, in the work area with the preparation of equipment and supply of consumables for scheduled activities

What will you bring to the role?

  • standard GCSE's or NVQ Level 1 or equivalent qualification or experience
  • good interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise confidentiality with students and staff
  • be organised with the ability to prioritise workload
