The School of Biological and Chemical Sciences (SBCS) in the College of Science and Engineering at the University of Galway invites applications for a Senior Lecturer position, commencing August 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. Candidates with postgraduate level teaching experience in biotechnology and related fields are particularly sought. Preference will be given to candidates who have previous experience of coordinating modules and courses at 3rd level, as well as previous experience of working or collaborating with the commercial biotechnology sector. Candidates that have research and/or teaching experience in both health and environmental biotechnology are particularly welcome to apply. The criteria for selection are proven experience in teaching, including organising modules and programmes, formal academic practice training, experience biotechnology research, potential to expand programme offers and complementarity with expertise at SBCS.

Salary: € 78,043 to € 110,596 p.a. (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)This appointment will be made on Senior Lecturer scale, commensurate with experience, in line with current Government pay policy and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University’s Remuneration policy.
