Director of Student Recruitment

Birmingham Newman University

The Director of Student Recruitment is a new role, and one that has been created to lead a new Directorate at the heart of Birmingham Newman University.

We are seeking a driven and values-led professional with significant experience of delivering ambitious growth targets in Higher Education student recruitment. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, ambitious and inclusive university. The Director will make a significant contribution to our future success and their role and mandate will reflect this responsibility.

Reporting directly to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students), this is a senior leadership position with a significant cross-institutional remit. You will be required to deputise for the PVC and represent the university on professional groups and committees as appropriate.

The Directorate includes three core teams of ‘Brand and Communications’, ‘Admissions’ and ‘Student Recruitment’. Strong candidates will bring significant experience of developing and delivering institution-wide student recruitment strategies which span these teams and responsibilities. As this is a new role, the successful candidate will need to have the leadership skills to embed the new team structure within the Directorate, and bring to fruition the intended benefits of ever closer working on all aspects of student recruitment planning and delivery. There will be the opportunity for the successful candidate to appoint a ‘Deputy Director (Student Recruitment)’ upon arrival.
