Role Overview
CEG Digital wishes to engage the services of an Online Tutor for their MSc Project Management for Construction course run in partnership with Portsmouth Online.

Online Tutors play a central role in the day-to-day success and vibrancy of the university’s online courses and are a consistent presence in the modules to which they are assigned and are usually the first point of contact for academic queries from students. Each Online Tutor will have a group of up to 30 students.

This is a flexible, part-time role and flexibility is required in order to accommodate busy periods such as assessment. Note that there will be key dates and contact points you will be required to adhere to which are driven by assessment dates in the course calendar. Full details will be provided prior to the start of the module.

The Course
This exciting MSc course has been designed to develop the skills students need to succeed within a leading role in a construction project. Alongside familiarising them with key tools and processes, the research and critical discussions they will participate in will help build the confidence, communicativeness and attention to detail that organisations actively seek. The course examines whole projects from initiation through to delivery and students will be challenged to examine real case studies so they’re ready to face any obstacles construction projects can encounter.

The Module
This module is the second on the course and looks at Building Information Modelling (BIM). On this module, students will become familiar with using modern computer technology (including Revit and ArchiCAD) and develop their knowledge of effective workflows in collaborative BIM settings. Students will extract and analyse data from a BIM model to make informed decisions about a project. They’ll also learn the importance of using computers to expedite tasks in the construction industry.
