We have an exciting opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to join the Mechanisms of Health & Disease research group within the School of Clinical Dentistry, contributing to the development of a novel self-administered, needle-free delivery platform for mRNA vaccines.
As part of this ambitious research programme, you will investigate polymersome-mediated mRNA delivery into cells and subsequently mRNA vaccine delivery from a mucoadhesive patch into tissue-engineered human oral mucosal equivalents.
This is a multi-disciplinary project working alongside researchers across the engineering and physical/life science interface funded by a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Engineering Biology Mission Award project.
You will have a PhD in a relevant subject area and have experience of tissue-engineering 3D epithelial models. You will have sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline and research methods and techniques to work independently and initiate and develop relevant research in the areas of drug delivery, biomaterials and cell biology.
