About the Post


The School of Social Sciences and Humanities has an emerging profile in producing world-leading and internationally excellent research.

The post holder will take responsibility for existing modules relating to early modern and modern European/World History within an established undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum. The post holder will provide learning, teaching, and assessment support, and engage in scholarly activity and research as well as taking an active role in the wider administration and organisation of the BA (Hons) and MA History at UoS including involvement in recruitment and outreach activities.

About You

You must embrace a cross disciplinary approach to work, showing effectiveness in building creative links to other areas of excellence within the School, especially English, as well as disciplines such as Politics, Sociology, Psychology, Law, and Education/Childhood Studies. The ideal candidate should be a passionate champion for Humanities in public, and a pro-active member of University’s Centre for Culture and Heritage. Helping to raise our profile through external engagement with individuals and partner organisations relevant to the Centre’s vision of being a leader for cultural heritage development and community engagement in the UK.
