We are seeking a full-time experienced finance executive administrator, confident in delivering excellent levels of financial support for the Meteorology Department. The annual research income for the department is around £14m and this role will be the key contact between our Principal Investigators (PIs) and Research accounts and will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills with all stakeholders.

This role will require specific skills and knowledge in financial administration, with a good understanding of University systems and processes and will be based at Whiteknights campus, Earley Gate.

Reporting to the Executive Administration Manager (EAM) the role will be part of the Executive Support team providing high quality, professional administrative and financial support to the School of Mathematical, Physical and Computational sciences.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following essential criteria:

  • Previous financial administration experience.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders and have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and meet set deadlines.
  • Experience of taking own initiative to resolve issues and proactive approach to handling queries and working collaboratively.
  • Excellent IT skills with a range of IT packages, and systems.
  • Solution focused and a team player with a ‘can-do’ approach.
  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent.
