Oxford Brookes University is looking to recruit an experienced, reliable and highly motivated Residences Support Assistant as a member of the Residence team to lead in delivering a positive culture where the student experience and welfare are key priorities. Our students spend a large part of the time with us in Residences so we recognise the need to ensure this is a positive, exciting and well supported part of their University life.

Working hours for the post of Residences Support Assistant:

This is a Part-time post which is 30 hours over 5/7 days per week, typically Monday to Friday 11:30am - 6pm, with the requirement to work some weekends for open days and arrivals weekends.  Oxford Brookes is supportive of flexible working, part-time working and job sharing. Overall Purpose of the post of Residences Support Assistant:

  • To provide cover reception and deal with enquiries by phone, in person and by email
  • To provide a friendly and dedicated service to residents at the halls
  • To support the Hall with a range of administration and reception duties including ensuring hard and electronic copies are kept up to date and organsied
  • To support residents with issues and to provide a first line “triage” response to incidents on site
  • To ensuring the Site presents well and is safe at all times.

Qualifications and Experience for the post of Residences Support Assistant:

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to multitask, undertaking several ventures at the same time
  • Genuine interest in the welfare and experience of students and conference guests
  • The ability to build effective relationships with other departments in the organisation.

Experience:

  • Working in a hospitality-related business in a customer facing  or office-based capacity
  • Health and Safety Compliance
  • Experience and high level of competency in a range of IT systems including database computer systems.
