Instructional Designer

We are expanding the skill mix and expertise of the RPS Education and Professional Development team and are seeking a motivated and creative Instructional Designer to develop high quality educational content to enhance learning outcomes for pharmacy professionals.

You will collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to create and construct a diverse range of instructional materials, including eLearning modules, training and development programs, webinars, events, and assessments. Your innovative approach and specialist knowledge will ensure that our educational content meets the diverse and evolving needs of learners, and aligns with industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Experience of instructional design and eLearning development.
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing and curating educational content within learning management systems, and assessment platforms, such as Brightspace, Moodle, TestReach, or similar technologies.
  • Proficiency with instructional design tools and software, such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, or similar programs.
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and learning assessment methods.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines for digital learning materials.
  • Demonstrable experience of evaluating educational resources, programmes, and/or services.
  • Experience of working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders to understand, plan and define requirements for learning journeys.

The Directorate

The RPS Professional Membership & Education (PMED) directorate is responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting members and the profession to deliver and continually improve high-quality patient care.
  • Defining and assuring post-registration standards of pharmacy practice through curricula, assessments, and credentialing.
  • Supporting members and the profession to deliver and promote the highest standards of pharmacy practice and professionalism.
  • Advancing pharmacy practice and science by educating the profession to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to meet changing patient needs.

The Team

This role sits in the Education and Professional Development team within the PMED directorate. The team’s main purpose is to advance practice through education, learning and professional development.

We are a small but dynamic team of pharmacists who are passionate about improving care through education and professional development. We are looking forward to welcoming an instructional designer to support us with our ambition to advance the pharmacist profession.

How we are currently working

RPS supports and works in a hybrid way, which means you will be able to work from home, however, there will be an expectation for collaborative face-to-face working – on average and typically this may be something between 4-8 working days per month at our London Office.
