Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield 

Main duties and responsibilities

We are recruiting for an Executive Assistant to form part of a team providing a comprehensive executive support service to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor (OVC) senior management team. The post holder will undertake a range of key activities such as diary management, meeting servicing, and general administrative tasks, as well as taking decisions and actions on behalf of OVC members. You will plan workloads, manage diary commitments and deal with correspondence relating to the OVC senior manager’s responsibilities in the leadership and management of the University. This will involve working closely with senior managers across and outside the University, including government agencies, sector bodies and external contacts. You will also draft reports and letters for the OVC, initiate responses or respond to correspondence and to personal and telephone enquiries from staff at all levels, senior external contacts and the general public. 

Skills and experience needed

You will have evidence of prior experience in clerking, servicing meetings and committees at the highest level of an organisation and significant experience in a range of administrative roles supporting executive level managers. Extensive administrative experience in a complex and dynamic organisation and the ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels is essential. You will be a professional self-starter who can use their own initiative and have excellent communication skills (written format and oral communication skills) and interpersonal skills as well as excellent organisation, planning and administrative skills, with close attention to detail.

Qualifications required

You will be educated with a minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent, or substantial proven experience.
