We are seeking a full-time Business Administration Apprentice to join the Faculty Office team within the School of Clinical Medicine, the medical school of the University of Cambridge. The Faculty Office supports the work of the Education Division, which has responsibility for undergraduate clinical medical education, and for graduate affairs.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of administrative and PA experience, learning on the job as part of an experienced administrative team. You will work closely with the Faculty Administrator to provide administrative support to the Faculty Office, and you will help to provide PA support to the Head of the Education Division.

You will work on a wide variety of projects throughout the year, and will assist with the administration of Faculty Board, a senior committee which considers all educational aspects of the School's business.

This post offers the flexibility to work on a hybrid basis, combining remote working with some office-based hours at the Clinical School on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

The apprenticeship is for a fixed term of 24 months. You will study to complete a Business and Administration Level 3 qualification, using the skills and knowledge that you have built up to complete your projects and assignments. The training provider (Cambridge Regional College) will conduct regular workplace visits from your Assessor.

About you:

  • You must be educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent, with a minimum of a grade C or level 4 in Maths and English.
  • You must have an understanding and experience of basic computer programmes, e.g. Microsoft Office, as well as good organisation, communication and prioritisation skills.
  • Able and willing to follow instruction and learn new tasks
  • Close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Able to work flexibly as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality around sensitive issues relating to staff and students
  • Willing to learn and take responsibility for your own development
