The Department of Research and Innovation Services (RIS) is seeking to appoint an innovative individual to work with academic and professional services colleagues to support social science-facing transdisciplinary impact and innovation work at Cardiff University.
The post holder will work with academic colleagues, primarily in social sciences, to develop the impact of their research undertaken at Cardiff University, including early-stage impact activities, Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) funded activities, specifically the ESRC IAA, but with the intention to reach out towards transdisciplinary working and activities that may lead to impact case studies for UK research assessment exercises.
Working closely with the Impact Funding Manager and the Public Engagement Manager within the Impact and Engagement Team, the post holder will be responsible for supporting the co-design, delivery and evaluation of social science-facing impact, engaging diverse professional and public communities across the Cardiff University Innovation ecosystem including research partners, strategic partners and within the spark|sbarc building community.
The post holder will be required to demonstrate strong communication and networking skills, proactivity and use of initiative and excellent event delivery abilities. They will also support the IAA Funding Manager with cross-sector collaboration to maximise partnerships rooted in a place-based approach to social science innovation, including skills, wellbeing, the environment, civic identity and pride in place.
The post holder will generate new data and deeper learning about how funding bodies, such as ESRC, can better devolve funding and opportunities to academic and other partners; create more equitable ways of working between communities, academia, and third and private sector partners; and connect IAA local practice to other groups working on co-creation across the UK through national networks.
This post is full time and fixed-term until 31st March 2028.
Salary: £39,347 - £44,263 per annum (Grade 6)
