The Role
We are recruiting for one part-time Audience Engagement Assistant post.

The Audience Engagement Assistant role offers an exciting opportunity to join the team of cultural institution focused on architecture and cities. Situated in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, the Farrell Centre's mission is to engage and involve the broadest possible audience with the forces driving urban change to help bring about a built environment that is more inclusive, sustainable, and democratic. The building project to transform a late 19th-century building into the centre's new home was completed in February 2023 and the centre opened its doors to the public in April 2023.

Reporting to the Operations and Visitor Experience Coordinator, the Audience Engagement Assistant will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the Farrell Centre, working to ensure the safety and comfort of our visitors and that their experience of our building, exhibitions and programmes is as rich and rewarding as possible. The Audience Engagement Assistant will also contribute to the delivery of the centre's digital engagement strategy working across the centre's website, e-newsletter, and social media channels.

The part-time post is 21 hours across 3 days per week. Normal working days will be within the centre's opening days (Wednesday-Sunday) and a rota will be agreed with Operations and Visitor Experience Coordinator before start date. Additional shifts and evening event shifts will be on offer and paid as additional hours.

A DBS check is required with this position.

To apply, please complete an online application and upload a CV and a cover letter. Your cover letter should be a detailed supporting statement outlining why you are a good fit for the role. Please explain how you meet the essential criteria outlined and evidence this with examples, please also indicate whether you are interested in the full-time or part-time roles.
