The opportunity

As Senior Lecturer / Interprofessional Clinical Placement Coordinator you will be required to provide support to the Interprofessional Education Lead for the innovative design and implementation of clinical interprofessional placements for commissioned healthcare programmes. You will facilitate collaborative partnerships with health boards, local authorities, and other external organisations to ensure appropriate provision of interprofessional clinical placements.

You will need strong organisational skills and networking abilities with the ability to problem solve. You will work collaboratively and sensitively with the IPE Lead, Placement Tutors, Placement Office, and NHS Placement Coordinators

What we are looking for

  • An in-depth knowledge of interprofessional clinical placement models.
  • An in-depth understanding of clinical pedagogy.
  • An in-depth understanding of research/enterprise and scholarly activity.
  • Ability to support, develop, and organise a range of interprofessional clinical placements at various levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to review interprofessional clinical placements on a regular basis to ensure compliance with quality standards and academic regulations and to make alterations where appropriate.
  • Ability to contribute to the achievement of the School Development Plan and the institutions strategic planning processes.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for strategic development/improvement e.g. research projects, new courses, consultancy.
  • Ability to identify (through the analysis of appropriate management information) areas requiring improved performance e.g. student numbers, student satisfaction, placement experience.
  • Experience of HE teaching or equivalent.
  • Experience of providing academic leadership and first line support/mentoring for other colleagues.
  • Experience of engaging in pedagogic and practitioner research.
  • A good honours degree.
  • Ability to achieve Fellow Status as part of the Higher Education Academy’s Professional Recognition scheme, within agreed timescales (as soon as is practicably possible and definitely within three years of commencement of employment).

You will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student placement experience. Being a HCPC registered AHP with good teaching experience on relevant programmes is essential.
