Head of Timetabling

BIMM University, renowned for its commitment to excellence in creative arts education, is seeking an individual to join our team as Head of Timetabling. This role presents a unique opportunity to shape the academic experience of our students and support the strategic goals of the institution.

About the role:

The Head of Timetabling will play a pivotal role in the strategic planning and efficient execution of class schedules at BIMM University. Responsible for overseeing the creation of comprehensive schedules for each semester/term, the successful candidate will ensure optimal use of space and resources while meeting the diverse needs of students, faculty, and staff.

What You’ll do:

  • Lead the development and implementation of long-term timetabling strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the University's academic goals.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and administrative units to assess scheduling needs and identify optimisation opportunities.
  • Coordinate the Campus Timetablers in creating accurate and accessible timetables, considering various factors such as course requirements, faculty availability, and room allocation.
  • Establish an annual cycle of timetable activities and ensure timely publication of schedules.
  • Monitor resource usage data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for timetabling-related activities and foster positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Oversee the development and usage of timetabling software and other technological tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies, academic regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, training, and performance feedback to timetablers and support staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in university timetabling or academic administration.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in timetabling software and relevant technologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of higher education policies and regulations related to timetabling.
