Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield 

You will be coordinating and managing the delivery of efficient, effective and professional administrative support in an integrated School encompassing Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics, at both strategic and operational levels, supporting the Dean, School Executive Group and senior academic managers. You will be responsible for the management of all aspects of School-based administration across a broad range of functions including human resources, governance, events management, admissions and marketing, business continuity and planning, data collection and returns. This will also include acting as a single point of contact and liaising with other departments across the university with regards to issues and tasks, ensuring the school management are informed. You will ensure the development and maintenance of effective and comprehensive range of communications within the School and more widely in the University. 

You must have substantial proven administrative experience at an appropriate level including proven experience of monitoring and evaluating services. In addition to this you must have proven experience of working with a wide range of people in a customer focused environment, including supporting committees / working groups and taking minutes. The post requires existing management experience, including quality assurance processes. 

You will be able to outline your experience of managing work activities which have required high level of collaborative working, time management and negotiating skills in a busy environment. The role requires you to have experience of promoting equality, diversity and staff wellbeing.  

You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels, with both written and oral communication. You must have proven organisational skills and be able to work under pressure with minimum supervision, whilst maintaining a high standard and close attention to detail. You will need to be able to use digital media to a highly competent level including software such as Microsoft Office, the internet and other technologies for communication and information purposes, to support and improve working practices. Having the ability to motivate and mentor staff, build and lead teams, and operate an enterprising, flexible, proactive approach when using initiative to deliver service standards are all key required skills. You will also bring professional or specialist knowledge or experience to support informed decision making and advice on complex processes. 

You must hold a minimum of a Degree or an equivalent qualification, or have proven administrative experience.
