A position exists for a Research Assistant in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics. The successful candidate will join the UKRI-funded team of Dr Rong Zhou to work on problems in arithmetic geometry related to Shimura varieties.
Duties include undertaking your own program of research and assisting with ongoing research programmes; writing up results for publication; and presenting your work to colleagues at conferences or seminars, both internally and externally. You may also be asked to assist in organizing various seminars and study groups.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in mathematics by the start date of the position, and should have relevant background knowledge in arithmetic geometry.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 42 months in the first instance.
