Background
City’s Information Assurance Team is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Information Assurance Officer. If you know that the answer to every data protection question is “it depends” and why, we would like to hear from you. The small but influential team, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, is responsible for all aspects of City’s compliance with the Data Protection Legislation, as well as compliance with the Freedom of Information Act, 2000. Data protection is a critical pillar of City’s governance structure.
Responsibilities
The post holder will provide support and assistance to all areas of City on the application of Data Protection and Information Management Legislation to its activities. You will handle Information Rights and Third Party Data Requests, and process FOI 2000 and EIR 2004 Requests. In addition, you will review Data Protection Impact Assessments and Data Protection aspects of contracts and get involved with Data Breach management.
Person Specification
The post holder will hold an appropriate professional qualification or have relevant vocational experience. Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework governing data protection, freedom of information and records management is also required. You will have experience of working in a team responsible for compliance with Data Protection Legislation. Excellent written and oral communication and time management skills are required including the ability to show patience and objectivity and persuade others.
